The recently rebuilt Taufua Beach Fales is the livliest Samoa accommodation for backpackers and sits on the glorious white sands of Lalomanu Beach on the eastern tip of Upolu Island. Taufua was completely destroyed by the tsunami in September 2009 but its owners have made a remarkable recovery to re-open their home and offer traditional style beach fales once again to its guests.

Located right on the stunning white sands of Lalomanu Beach, Taufua Beach Fales has been completely rebuilt since being devastated by the Tsunami which hit Samoa in September 2009. The owners, Tai and Sili, have done a remarkable job in getting their life and business back together after such a tragic event. Taufua remains the pick of the backpacker beach fales in Samoa.

About Taufua Beach Fales
Kayaking and snorkelling trips can be organized along with clifftop walks, sightseeing trips around the island and shopping tours to Apia Town. Airport transfers can be pre-arranged. Taufua stands out amongst the many locally run beach fales in Samoa for its exceptional organisation and hospitable hosts. Although fales are sqashed together with limited privacy, this is one of the few places where you sleep in a fale right on the beachfront. All fales share a his and her bathroom across the road.


Open Beach Fale
Open Fales have open sides with coconut blinds lowered for privacy or raised for the sea breeze to pass through, and tarpaulin security blinds in case of heavy rain. A mattress laid upon mats on the floor acts as bedding with a mosquito net.


Enclosed Beach Fale
Three semi enclosed fales have wooden sides, a trellis and curtain front with balcony. Mattresses can be laid on the floor or raised on a bed. Shared bathrooms.
